M/Q favorite Rolling Stones song|||They deserved it when they received it. For those of you that weren't around or just can't remember the 60's, there was a huge rivalry going on between the Beatles and the Stones. This was before the Beatles got into drugs and the whole psychedelic thing. The Beatles sound was harmonizing and pleasant and happy music. The Stones were pounding driving angry/sad music. The Beatles were clever and funny in interviews. The Stones smoked, were loud and sometimes rude in interviews. The Beatles were the good guys, the Stones the bad. The Stones song "Let's Spend the Night Together" was banned in Boston for being too suggestive. Today you can hear it on elevators!
Today their just the grandads of rock and roll. But 40 years ago they were baaaaad!|||Yeah, I think so
MA: Midnight Rambler|||Ask anyone who is old enough to remember their coming to the U.S. They were, without question, the bad boys of rock. They were the Guns N Roses of their era, except their era was arguably more conservative (I prefer the term "unexposed").
There are no "bad boys" right now. Rock has lost its dangerous edge, and has surrendered its torch to twats like Jonas Brothers. It's a sad state that rock is in, but I fully believe that a band will eventually emerge that gives rock the kick in the *** it needs. History shows that it happens every so often, and we're about due.|||I think they were considered bad boys in the 60's %26amp; 70's but man did times change. If the Stones would have started in the 80's or later, they wouldn't even be considered the bad boys of rock %26amp; I think that Motley Crue, who I also like, would be considerd the bad boys of rock today. Out of all the bands of the British Invasion, though, the title belongs to the later Who. Remember, they brought angst and guitar smashing to the hippie love children of The US.
MA: Jumpin' Jack Flash|||Yes, but I think the Doors, Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses need serious consideration as well.
